COMRADE AJOLOKO LEADS UNION LEADERS TO MEET EKITI STATE HEAD OF SERVICE, MAKES FRESH DEMANDS FOR WORKERS

Leadership of three labour unions in Ekiti State have sought the assistance of the Head of Service to achieve improved welfare for their members and implementation of some outstanding benefits

The unions are Joint Negotiating Council, Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Ekiti State Council and Joint Health Sector Union, Ekiti State.

Executive members of the various unions were led to the Head of Service by a renowned Unionist, Comrade Femi Ajoloko who is the Chairman of the three different unions.

Addressing the Head of Service in her office, Ajoloko Congratulated her on the elevation to the exalted position and itemized some of the demands of the three unions to include implementation of SKIPPING for other health workers as contained in the COHESS table, implementation of hazard and rural allowance for Non Clinical Officers employed by Hospital Management Board, payment of five months outstanding deductions and implementation of the new minimum wage.

Other demands are Elongation of Laboratory Technicians, X-ray Technicians, Dental Surgery Technician, Community Health Extension Workers at the State to Grade level 14 and issuance of study approval to qualified officers without prejudice.

Ajoloko noted that if the demands were attended to, workers would be more encouraged to give their best to the service of the state.

Responding, the Head of Service, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi appreciated the labour leaders for the kind words and best wishes adding that her office is working hard to reposition the civil service for better productivity.

Dr. Olomojobi noted that the dream of the current government is to build a civil service that is self sustaining and major catalyst to the achievement of government’s development agenda.

She urged the workers to continue to support the government of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, saying he meant well for the workers and the state at large.

In his contribution, the SSA to the Governor on Labour Matters, Mr. Kayode Fatomiluyi who was part of the meeting commended the leadership style of Comrade Ajoloko and assured his unions of government’s partnership.

Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of congratulatory banner to the Head of Service.
