Bamisile Thrilled as NCAA’s Approves Ekiti Airport For Operation

…says achievement, gain of continuity in governance

A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has expressed delight and excitement over the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority’s granting of approval for the operation of the Ekiti State Agro Allied International Cargo Airport.

With this, the Chairman House Committee on Delegated Legislation, said Governor Biodun Oyebanji, had again raised the stake of his monumental achievements and blazed the trail as a leader with grace and passion for development.

The NCCA, had in a letter dated December 11, 2024 and addressed to Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, said the approval of the non-scheduled operations under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) at the airport is for a period of six months- December 15, 2024 to June 15, 2025.

In a statement issued in Abuja, on Friday, Bamisile commended the Bola Ahmed Tinubu leadership for granting the approval that will connect Ekiti to the global community and expand the scope of business opportunities for the state.

He expressed deep pleasure that the prediction of the naysayers that the project will be ill-fated, had been aborted by this cheering achievement.

The representative of Ekiti South Federal Constituency II in the green chamber of the National Assembly, urged all Ekiti indigenes to always exhibit unflagging patriotism and have faith in the Biodun Oyebanji’s leadership and competence to bail Ekiti out of economic doldrums.

Bamisile said the airport commencement of unscheduled flight operations for six months moratorium as granted by NCAA, will provide veritable ground for the exposure of Ekiti business opportunities in agriculture, arts and culture, education and solid mineral sectors to the global realm.

“This is one achievement that actually thrilled me as a critical stakeholder in Ekiti State. I have traveled wide and far, and I know the significance of Airport to the development of the host community or state.

“The benefit inherent in Ekiti having a fully operated Airport facility will be unquantifiable as time progresses. Some of our private and state tertiary institutions will be more patronized, especially now that we are having serious challenge with our inter-state roads that are in decrepit shapes.

“The airport being an agro Allied one will boost our potentials in agriculture through exportation of our yam, cocoa and other commerical products our of the country for foreign income earnings that will in turn develop the local economy through investment drives.

“I congratulate our development- driven governor, Biodun Oyebanji on this achievement. This further reinforced our belief that continuity in governance is far more profitable to the citizens”, Bamisile stated.
