APC Members in Emure-Ekiti Call For Removal of Council Chairman

…Allege Diversion of Palliatives, High-Handedness Among Others

Some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Emure local government of Ekiti State on Monday staged a peaceful protest at the party sectretariat in Ado-Ekiti calling for the removal of the party chairman in the council area, Mr. Bola Oluwole, known as Bolingo.

The protesters, who besieged the party secretariat held placards with different inscriptions such as: “enough is enough for Oluwole,” “stop portraying our party in a bad way,” “you a not a team player,” “we are tired of your leadership style”, among others.

Addresing newsmen during the protest, a former Chairman of Emure local government , Hon Olu Okeya and a former APC women leader in the council, Mrs Aina Fasina alleged that the party chairman’s high-handedness and diversion of palliatives meant for members among other offences warranted members to call for his removal.

Also, a member of the party in Emure Ward 3, Mr Femi Adeyemo alleged that Mr Oluwole also stole iron rods in a site, saying such had brought shame to the reputation of the party in the council.

On their own, Mr Ayodele Famojuro and Mr Akinsola Oladapo noted that members and Elders of APC had suspended Mr Oluwole while calling on the state executive members to approve his suspension.

When contacted on telephone, Mr Oluwole denied the allegations, saying it was planned by some of his enemies.

Duriing the protest, there were no state officials of the party to address the protesters.
