The president, Ado Central LIONS Club, Lion Aderonke Ologunde has sought the partnership of Nigeria Union of Journalists and well meaning Nigerians to boost the humanitarian services of the organization in the state.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists , NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Lion Ologunde explained that the primary objective of the club is to touch lives and such could only be achieved through the support of media and relevant stakeholders.

Unveiling her plan, Lions Aderonke promised to provide bedspread to Health Centers in Ekiti state , adding that more humanitarian services would be provided to Ekiti residents before the expiration of her one year tenure.

On his part, Lions (Hon) Kehinde Odebunmi, a senior member of the club, charged Nigerians to join the club, saying Lions Club was established in 1912 to assist the needy. He said one do not need to be rich before helping others.

The former House of Representative member, attributed 3 Ts’ as a prerequisite to be a member of Lions club. According to him” All you need to be a member of Lions club is to possess either Time, Treasure and Talent. These 3 Ts’ work harmoniously to achieve the objective of Lions club. If you have talent, another person may have money or time, when you merge the three together, we would be doing our society good by helping the needy”

Hon Odebunmi reiterated the achievements of the club in Ekiti to include: Provision of Diabetes Screening Center at Ekiti state Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), provision of solar lights at Aisegba Ekiti Health Centre, provision of boreholes across the state and many humanitarian services.

Hon Odebunmi gave the meaning of the acronym, LIONS as Loving individual Offering Needed Service while the real acronym, Liberty Integrity Our Nation Safety.

The Club decorated the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi.

Responding, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi appreciated the club for providing eye glasses to the union a few years ago. He assured them of the union’s unalloyed support in the quest to assisting the less privileged in Ekiti state.
