Ado-Ekiti APC Leaders Embark on Ward Tour, Backs Gov Oyebanji’s Second Term

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Leaders Forum in Ado-Ekiti local government area of Ekiti State have embarked on a familiarization tour of wards in the council.

The train of the tour on Thursday visited Ward 1 (Idofin) and Ward 2 (Inisa) all in Ado-Ekiti LGA where party faithful came out enmasse to receive the leaders.

Top government functionaries were in attendance including, the Director-General, Office of Community Communications, Mary Omotosho, Ekiti State, Chairman of the Petroleum Products Consumers Protection Agency, Odunayo Arinka, Chairman of Ado-Central Local Council Development Area, Toyin Ojo, among other Party stalwarts.

According to the Chairman of the Forum, Remi Oguntuase, the visit is to show solidarity to the faithful, give them sense of belongings and mobilize Ado-Ekiti residents to re-elect Governor Oyebanji for second term.

He said: “We are mobilizing our people and also welcome the people that want to join us. We are trying to get our people ready for Oyebanji’s second term.

“We are going to have a joint press conference with the elders that Ado-Ekiti is solidly behind Oyebanji. We are supporting him again for the second term. Everybody is joining us.”

On his part, the Chairman of Ward 1, Oladimeji Kayode said he is optimistic that the move by the leaders will yield positive outcome towards the re-election of the governor.

“It’s quite good and it shows an addendum to the inclusiveness of what the governor is doing and I am sure that now that Ado-Ekiti is trying to be one, we believe that it should be sustained.

“The programme is okay. We are happy about it and we have the believe that this one will continue to grow the system. It is a complete acceptance of Governor Oyebanji within the ward level.”

His counterpart and Vice Chairman in Ward 2, Niyi Ojo said that the APC members in his Ward have resolved to deliver on the mandate to sustain the developmental strides that have touched all parts of the state.

Meanwhile, a former House of Representatives candidate in the last general elections for the African Democratic Party (ADP), in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1, Akomolede Mary, who decamped to the APC was formally received into the party at Ward 2.
