A legal Icon, Mrs Boma Alabi (SAN ) says embracing technology, robust cyber-security, online dispute resolution and virtual courts will help the legal industry to address existing challenges and prepare it for future seamless technology-driven justice delivery.

She stated this in Ado Ekiti during a programme organised by Association of Young Lawyers, Ado Ekiti Branch to commemorate the 8th Obafemi Adewale Colloquium.

Speaking on the theme of the colloquium “Digital Transformation in Legal Practice: Embracing Legal Technology, Cyber security and Data Protection for Law firms, Online Dispute Resolution and Virtual Court”, Mrs Alabi explained that Legal technology was no longer optional but essential for law firms looking to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry

Mrs Ajayi explained that embracing digital transformation, firms can deliver better results, enhance client satisfaction, and future-proof their practice.

According to her, Virtual courts will revolutionise judicial process by making it more efficient, accessible and adaptable to modern needs.

On cyber security, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria noted that law firms handle vast amounts of sensitive and confidential clients’ data, making them prime targets for cyber attacks urging them to embrace Cyber security and data protection to safeguard client trust, meeting legal obligations, and ensuring business continuity.

In his remark, the celebrant who is a Former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti State , Mr Obafemi Adewale SAN appreciated the initiator of the colloquium eight years ago, saying the platform served as avenue for young lawyers to discuss new trend in legal profession.

Mr Adewale charged young lawyers to be upright, dedicated and truthful in their dealings which he said would earned them respect, recognition and allowing them to move fast in the profession.

In her speech, the Chairperson of Association of Young Lawyers, Ado Ekiti Branch, Mrs Jesutola Tobi-Mulero noted that the colloquium was designed to equip young lawyers with knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to excel in their careers.

She urged participants at the event to take advantage of the opportunity to learn and connect with peers and mentors for future advantages.

The colloquium which was well attended by Senior Advocates Of Nigeria, Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti State, Legal professionals and well wishers witnessed Presentation of Awards to outstanding awards to professor Foluke Dada and NBA, National President, Mazi Adam Osigwe SAN
