10th Senate President: Akpabio Defeats Yari

Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and two time Senator, Godswill Akpabio has emerged winner of the 10th Senate President Race.

This was gathered after the dissolution of the 9th Senate House today and the conclusion of the Senate President conquest.

Roundoff had earlier gathered that there was contention within the ruling party as the two candidates are reportedly from the same political party.

According to report gathered, Akpabio secured 63 vote count over his closest rivalry Senator Abdullaziz Yari of the All Progressive Party, APC, and Former Governor of Zafara State who had 46 votes.

Following this, Akpabio has been declared winner and Barau Jibrin Maliya as the Deputy Senate President of the 10th Senate House.
