Adetimehin Welcomes Supreme Court Verdict on ADC Leadership

A leading aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Ekiti South Federal Constituency I on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Abiodun Adetimehin, has welcomed the Supreme Court judgement affirming the party’s national leadership.

Adetimehin, in a statement issued on Thursday, described the apex court’s decision as a victory for democracy, party supremacy and the rule of law, noting that it brings stability to the party ahead of future elections.

The Supreme Court ruling reportedly upheld the leadership of the ADC National Chairman, David Mark, and the National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola.

“I wholeheartedly welcome the Supreme Court’s verdict affirming the leadership of our revered National Chairman, Senator David Mark, and National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola,” Adetimehin said.

He noted that the judgement underscored the judiciary’s commitment to justice and non-interference in the internal affairs of political parties where due process has been followed.

According to him, the ruling has put an end to distractions that had threatened the progress of the party.

Adetimehin, who is seeking to represent Ekiti South Federal Constituency I, called on members of the ADC nationwide, particularly in Ekiti State, to unite and support the current leadership.

He said the verdict provides an opportunity for the party to refocus on its mandate of offering Nigerians a credible and people-oriented alternative.

The aspirant stressed the need for intensified grassroots mobilisation, issue-based politics and quality representation that would address the needs of the people, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, security and economic empowerment.

He urged party leaders and other aspirants in Ekiti State to see the court’s decision as a unifying factor rather than a source of division.

Adetimehin also commended party members for their resilience during the leadership crisis, expressing optimism that the ADC is now better positioned to play a significant role in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The aspirant had earlier declared his intention to contest the Ekiti South Federal Constituency I seat, pledging effective representation and strong legislative advocacy if elected.

The Supreme Court ruling is expected to shape the party’s preparations as political activities gradually build up towards the 2027 general elections.
