The African Democratic Congress, ADC, Ekiti State Chapter, has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media claiming that some individuals have been appointed as Director-General or State Campaign Coordinator for Atiku-Amaechi in the state.
The party, in a statement issued on Friday by its State Publicity Secretary, Rt. Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan, said the purported appointments were neither authorized nor approved by the national leadership of the party.
According to the statement, the clarification followed enquiries made by the state chapter and confirmation received from the national leadership of the ADC.
The party therefore urged members, stakeholders, supporters and the general public to disregard any list, letter or publication circulating on social media or other platforms purporting to announce such appointments in Ekiti State.
The ADC said the responsibility for appointing the Director-General and State Campaign Coordinators rests solely with the national leadership of the party.
It added that whenever such appointments are made, the national leadership would formally communicate them to the state chapter through the appropriate official channels.
The party also clarified that the collation, selection and deployment of party agents at the polling unit, ward, local government and state levels remain the constitutional responsibility of the party.
It stressed that no campaign council, support group or individual has the authority to collate party agents on behalf of the ADC.
The statement further disclosed that the State Working Committee, led by Dr. Bamidele Ekunola, had received the necessary materials for the collation of party agents.
It said the materials had been duly completed and submitted and would soon be transmitted to the national headquarters for uploading.
The party appealed to its members to remain calm, united and focused on strengthening the ADC in Ekiti State, warning against allowing unauthorized individuals to create confusion and disaffection within its ranks.
The ADC assured members and the general public that any official appointments would be communicated through its recognized communication channels.
