The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Ambassador Dare Bejide, has felicitated with workers in the state on the occasion of this year’s Workers’ Day celebration.
In a goodwill message issued in Ado-Ekiti, Ambassador Bejide described Ekiti workers as the engine room of governance and development, commending their resilience, dedication, and sacrifice despite harsh economic realities.
He noted that civil servants, teachers, health workers, and others in both public and private sectors have continued to drive the state forward under difficult conditions, including rising inflation and insecurity.
The ADC candidate decried what he called the worsening welfare situation of workers in the state, citing delayed promotions, inadequate wages, and poor working environments.
He assured that his administration would prioritise workers’ welfare if elected.
“Under an ADC government, prompt payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities will be non-negotiable.
We will restore dignity to labour through regular training, promotion as and when due, and a conducive work environment,” Bejide pledged.
He urged workers to remain steadfast and resist any attempt to use poverty as a tool for political inducement ahead of the June governorship election.
Ambassador Bejide wished all Ekiti workers a peaceful celebration and prayed for better days for their families.
