ADC Governorship Candidate, Ambassador Bejide, Visits Omuo, Ikole, Ode-Ekiti

…as traditional rulers hail his integrity as former SSG

Traditional rulers in Omuo, Ikole and Ode-Ekiti have received the Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Ambassador Dare Bejide, and his team at their royal palaces.

Ambassador Bejide was accompanied by his running mate, Chief Ayodeji Babatola, as the ADC campaign train continued its statewide consultation tour of traditional institutions ahead of the June 20th gubernatorial election.

In Omuo-Ekiti, the Olomuo, Oba Noah Omonigbehin, the traditional ruler of Ode-Ekiti, and the Elekole-in-Council welcomed the delegation alongside palace chiefs, community leaders, and party faithful who gathered for the courtesy visits.

In their remarks, the monarchs said communities were often not to blame for distrust in politics, noting that “many politicians’ mouths are too sweet during campaigns, but what happens after emergence?” Kabiyesi queried.

The traditional rulers commended Ambassador Bejide’s track record and gave their royal blessings to the ADC candidate and his deputy.

They spoke highly of Amb. Bejide’s tenure as Secretary to the State Government under Chief Segun Oni, recalling that each time federal allocation came, the government in which the Ambassador served as SSG ensured its judicious use for the people of the state.

The monarchs cited this as proof of Bejide’s integrity and selflessness in public service.

The monarchs urged the communities to stand with the ADC and Ambassador Bejide’s candidacy in the coming election.

They charged the governorship candidate to always remember the promises made during his tour, stating, “that stands as a covenant.”

Responding, the ADC Governorship Candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, thanked the monarchs for the audience, prayers, and candid counsel.

He restated his commitment to the “rescue mission to fix Ekiti,” with education, youth empowerment, grassroots development, electricity, and motorable roads as priorities, while also giving attention to the welfare of citizens if elected.

The visits to Omuo, Ikole, and Ode-Ekiti form part of the ADC’s ongoing engagements across the Ekiti East Senatorial District as the party intensifies consultations with traditional rulers and residents ahead of the poll.
