In a significant step toward consolidating support for his gubernatorial ambition in Ekiti State, Otunba Olumuyiwa Babalola, a frontline aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), paid a courtesy visit to former Minister of Interior and National Secretary ADC, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, at his residence in Abuja.
During the meeting, Otunba Babalola formally intimated the former Governor of Osun State with his intention to contest the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti, stressing that his aspiration is anchored on the long-overdue demand for equity, fairness, and justice in the state’s leadership, particularly for the people of Ekiti South.
He outlined his vision to reposition Ekiti through targeted policies in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, agricultural development, and infrastructural renewal, while also restating his commitment to providing monthly stipends for unemployed youths, women empowerment programs, and technology-driven opportunities for students and innovators.
In his remarks, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola commended Otunba Babalola for his courage and clarity of purpose, urging him to pursue his ambition with resilience, grassroots engagement, and a commitment to uniting Ekiti people across zones and political divides.
Speaking after the visit, Otunba Babalola emphasized that his South Agenda is not merely about zoning but about equity in power and unlocking the full potential of Ekiti State:
“For 27 years, Ekiti South has never produced a governor. This is not just about rotation. it is about justice, balance, and unleashing new energy for development. My discussion with Ogbeni Aregbesola has reinforced the need for visionary leadership rooted in fairness and people-driven governance.”
