1,060 Corps Members Complete NYSC Service in Ekiti

…as 11 Bag Extension of Service, 13 Remobilised Outrightly

A total of 1,060 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ekiti State have successfully completed their service year following the passing-out ceremony for the 2024 Batch ‘C’.

The ceremony was held on Thursday across various local government areas of the state. Out of the total number, 11 corps members were given extensions of service, while 13 were remobilised outright.

According to the NYSC, the extensions were imposed due to offences ranging from misconduct to failure to fulfil certain programme requirements. The remobilised corps members were those who missed three consecutive monthly clearances, thereby rendering part of their service year invalid.

While monitoring the ceremony at Ise-Orun and Emure Local Government Areas, the Ekiti State Coordinator of the NYSC, Alhaji Riko Abdullahi Shuaibu, charged the outgoing corps members to remain worthy ambassadors of the Scheme and to uphold its core values of service and humility.

Shuaibu also encouraged them to apply the skills acquired through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, noting that the completion of the service year should signal the beginning of purposeful and productive careers.

He wished the corps members safe journeys to their various destinations and urged them not to despise humble beginnings, assuring them that the discipline, lessons, and values gained during the service year would serve as a solid foundation for future success.

The passing-out ceremony was conducted nationwide, marking the official end of service for all members of the 2024 Batch ‘C’.
