Over N1 million worth of prizes will be won at the 2026 edition of the Voices of the Future schools public speaking contest, as pupils and students from across Ekiti State prepare to compete in a two-day event aimed at promoting public speaking and communication skills among young people.
The contest, organised by the Integrity International School of Diction and Public Speaking, is expected to bring together contestants from primary and secondary schools across the state.
The primary schools category, which is open to pupils in Basic 3 to Basic 6, will hold on Friday, October 2, while the secondary schools category for students in JSS1 to SS3 is scheduled for Saturday, October 3.
Both categories will be held at The GIGMOF Place, Obafemi Awolowo Civic Centre, Fajuyi Quarters, Ado-Ekiti, from 9:00 a.m.
The competition is designed to help participants develop confidence, diction, expression and presentation skills, while exposing them to competitive public speaking and leadership opportunities.
Prizes at the event will include cash awards, trophies, medals, certificates and gifts, with each participant also expected to receive a Certificate of Merit.
Schools can register between five and 10 contestants in each category, with a maximum of 20 contestants per school across the two categories. Parents and guardians may also register their children individually.
Registration is pegged at N5,000 per contestant, while the organisers have extended the deadline for registration to Wednesday, September 23, to enable more schools and prospective contestants to participate.
Interested schools, parents and guardians can contact 08168949556 or 09016765803 for registration and enquiries.
