A Nigerian man living abroad sparked controversy online after opting to have his younger brother stand in for him on his wedding day.
In a video shared online with the caption, “The husband is not around then he asks his kid bro to help him out and he did very well,” the groom’s brother was seen elegantly dressed in black traditional attire, accessorized with a gold-patterned Agbada. Meanwhile, the bride looked stunning in her black and gold dress, complemented by a black bridal hand fan.
The groom’s brother dutifully fulfilled his role, showering the bride with money as part of the customary grooming rituals, leading many to question his true identity as the husband.
Amid cheers, the brother took to the dance floor, showcasing impressive moves with his hands, head, neck, and body.
The video garnered various reactions from viewers, with many expressing criticism towards the groom for his absence on such a significant occasion.
Several commenters speculated that the groom’s decision to have his brother substitute for him may have cost him his bride’s affection.
