The Neo Black Movement (NBM) of Africa, Ekiti Zone, has formally declared support for the administration of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, citing his commitment to inclusive governance, infrastructural development, and the welfare of residents across the state.
The endorsement was conveyed in a statement released on Monday by the President of NBM Ekiti Zone, Hon. Ademola Babatunde.
According to Hon. Babatunde, the decision followed extensive consultations among members of the organization and an assessment of the administration’s performance since assuming office.
He noted that Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated exemplary leadership by prioritizing policies and programmes aimed at improving the living standards of Ekiti people while fostering peace and stability across the state.
The NBM Ekiti Zone President praised the governor’s efforts in strengthening critical sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, and infrastructure. He added that visible projects such as road rehabilitation, upgrade of health facilities, and support for farmers have made governance more felt at the grassroots.
Hon. Babatunde further stated that the endorsement reflects the collective position of members who believe that continuity of purposeful leadership is essential for sustaining the developmental gains currently being witnessed in Ekiti State.
He urged residents to continue supporting policies and initiatives that promote economic growth, security, and social advancement, stressing that sustainable development requires collective responsibility from both government and citizens.
Also lending his voice to the endorsement, Senior Special Assistant on Local Intelligence to the Governor of Ekiti State and Officer-in-Charge, Legal, NBM Ekiti Zone, Hon. Folorunsho Ajayi, described Governor Oyebanji as a leader committed to transparency, accountability, and grassroots development.
He noted that the administration’s people-centered approach has strengthened public confidence in governance and reduced tension between government and communities.
Hon. Ajayi maintained that the governor’s open-door policy and willingness to engage stakeholders across different sectors have contributed significantly to the peaceful atmosphere currently enjoyed in the state. He added that the administration’s focus on security and community collaboration has created an enabling environment for investment and socio-economic development.
Political observers say endorsements from civil society and community-based groups like NBM could boost Governor Oyebanji’s standing ahead of the next election cycle, as such groups often mobilize grassroots support and influence public perception.
The Neo Black Movement, Ekiti Zone, therefore reaffirmed its support for Governor Oyebanji and pledged continued cooperation with initiatives geared toward advancing the state’s development agenda. The group also promised to partner with government on youth orientation and anti-crime campaigns across the 16 local government areas.
