I’m Deeply Concerned About the Welfare of My Constituents…Bimbo Daramola Speaks on Re-election Bid

…promises to use his goodwills, connections to facilitate developmental projects that will complement Oyebanji’s administration if elected

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bimbo Daramola has confirmed that his intention to return to the National Assembly after twelve years was borne out of the passion to improve the welfare of his people and honour the memory of his late father who is an advocate of good governance.

Speaking with newsmen in Ado Ekiti, Daramola confirmed that he is not satisfied with the current state of his people especially in the areas of quality representation, access to dividends of democracy and federal interventions.

He also said that the incumbent Governor , Biodun Oyebanji deserves better support and complementary efforts that would further amplify gestures for the constituency.

Daramola said:”One of the reasons why I’m back in this race is to honor the memory of my father, who believes that Nigeria could get better when most of us who are conscious and functionable are working from inside, because you can’t do much from outside. It’s going to be an aggregate of centripetal forces against centrifugal forces.

“I believe very strongly that there’s still a lot to be done, people still need a lot of good and qualitative representation, my people need good roads, hospitals, water and other dividends of democracy.

“If God gives me the opportunity to return to the National Assembly, by the grace of God, the very first thing I will work hard at is how to compliment Governor Biodun Oyebanji on the issue of roads.

“Governor Oyebanji has gotten so much of bad press, all the jabs and the hits over roads despite all he has done. If God gives me the opportunity through the goodwill of the people to elect me once again, I’ll use all my strategic linkages , connections and contacts to assist Governor Oyebanji with regards to fixing some strategic roads. Because when we sort out the issue of roads, then people can appreciate Governor Oyebanji the more.

Though , larger number of the roads around the state are federal roads. So when you sort that out, you have inadvertently also made
travel easy for your people. You have also made transportation easy for the movement of goods and services. Not only that, a whole lot of development would surface.

The Ire born politician confirmed that the road that would be topmost on his mind would be the road from Omuo-Oye-Ayegbaju

According to Daramola, the topography of the road made it prone to accidents adding that the initial plan for the road did not anticipate that Oye will host a university hence he said aside using his connections to reconstruct the road, he promised to ensure the construction of a bypass where heavy trucks could access.

“If God and the goodwill of the people takes me back to the National Assembly, I’m going to fight. I’m going to negotiate. I’m going to…
romance people. I’m going to do everything to ensure that the solution is not just to repair that road. “My solution going forward is to have a bypass. the old road will still be there and worked on but the bypass is where the truck drivers will go through so that we can save the lives of our people and travel in safety.

Daramola explained that while serving at the national assembly, he was able to facilitate various projects including the building of hospital which has reduced Materna mortality, rural electrification, educational support, regular feedback mechanisms adding that he gave out sixty four vehicles to constituents.

He added that two buses were procured for APC in Oye and Ikole three months into his election, employment of a physician to attend to constituents at free as well as many other benefits which gave the people a sense of belonging.

Daramola promising that if given a second chance he will do better.

He pleaded with the people and APC leaders to support him to clinch on the ticket with a promise to make meaningful impacts.
