Gov. Oyebanji Recognizes NYSC Ekiti Challenges, Vows to Assist

The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has said that he is aware of the numerous challenges confronting the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the state and ready to assist.

The Governor who was represented by the State’s Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Adedayo Gold Adesola made this known during the swearing-in and official opening ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Corps Members deployed to Ekiti State at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ise-Orun/Emure, Ekiti.

He said that the government is aware of the infrastructural deficit at the orientation camp, the lack of a multipurpose hall especially for lectures, lack of a permanent office secretariat at the State capital, amongst others.

He said, “I have been informed that these problems have persisted unabated due to inadequate corresponding resource provisions. On our part, the State shall continue to assist the NYSC within the links of our resources. The NYSC in Ekiti deserves more, and we will do everything within our power to put smiles on your faces.”, Hon. Gold asserted.

In continuation of his address, Hon. Adedayo commended the NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Abdullahi Shuaibu and his team for his efforts since assumption of duty.

“I salute your steadfastness and foresight in making sure that the Ekiti State NYSC develop in all ramifications. I appreciate your tenacity and courage in steering NYSC Ekiti State to greater heights within the little period.”, he said.

Speaking at the occasion, the Commissioner on behalf of the State Governor congratulated the newly sworn-in corps members for successfully scaling through the rigours of academic pursuits in various higher institutions of learning.

He equally praised the corps members for their hard work and perseverance, adding that corps members should brace themselves in their duties to serve Nigeria.
