Israeli-Hamas War: I’ve always call for ceasefire – US President makes U-turn

By Udesinanna Stephen

The United State, US President, Joe Biden has said he has consistently called for a ceasefire on the Israeli and Hamas war, despite speaking on Friday that the war will proceed until all hostages are released.

This was revealed lately on Biden’s X handle @POTUS while commenting on the Middle-East conflict.

He said, “I have consistently pressed for a pause in the fighting to accelerate and expand the humanitarian assistance going into Gaza and facilitate the release of hostages.

“I remain in contact with leaders of Qatar, Egypt, and Israel to make sure every aspect of the deal is implemented.” He noted.

However, it could be recalled that the US President said, “We also will not stop until we get these hostages brought home and an answer to their whereabouts.”

He said this following the Friday Hamas release of 13 Israelis, adding that “It is a positive start toward the goal in the coming days of securing at least 50 women and children hostages, including three Americans.”
