The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Housing Authority, FHA, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, has called on residents of Ekiti State to turn out in large numbers on Saturday to re-elect Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, Ojo described the June 21 governorship poll as an opportunity for Ekiti people to reciprocate what he called the governor’s “people-centred governance and visible development strides.”
He urged voters, especially youths, to show the world that Ekiti remains united in support of continuity and progress.
The FHA boss, a former member of the House of Representatives, said a vote for Oyebanji translates to more benefits in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and inclusive governance.
He argued that the governor’s first term has laid a foundation that deserves consolidation rather than disruption.
“A vote for Governor Oyebanji is a vote for additional benefits, good governance and sustained infrastructure development,” Ojo stated.
“We have seen what he has done in health, education, road networks, and bringing governance closer to the grassroots. It will be in our best interest to allow him complete the work he started.”
Ojo also appealed directly to youths to resist manipulation and maintain peace before, during, and after the election. He warned against being used as instruments of violence or destruction, stressing that credible elections depend on the conduct of voters and stakeholders.
“Ekiti youths must see themselves as builders, not destroyers. The future of our state is in your hands. Come out, vote peacefully, and protect the gains we have recorded so far,” he added.
The FHA MD concluded by urging all stakeholders, including traditional rulers, market women, and civil society groups, to mobilize their members for a peaceful and orderly election that will further cement Ekiti’s reputation as a model for democratic conduct.
