A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, has urged Nigerian youths to take advantage of the various policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to improve their skills, education and economic prospects.
Daramola made the call while speaking on the need for young Nigerians to actively participate in government initiatives designed to create opportunities and empower citizens.
He encouraged youths to explore programmes covering education, technical and vocational training, agriculture and other areas capable of equipping them with practical skills and improving their livelihoods.
According to him, the student loan scheme provides an opportunity for eligible young Nigerians to pursue higher education without allowing financial challenges to completely hinder their academic aspirations.
Daramola also urged youths interested in technical and vocational careers to take advantage of government-supported training opportunities, stressing that vocational skills can provide pathways to self-employment and entrepreneurship.
He further encouraged young Nigerians to consider agriculture as a viable sector, noting that the industry offers opportunities across farming, processing, marketing and other areas of the agricultural value chain.
The former lawmaker advised youths not to wait solely for white-collar jobs but to acquire relevant skills, embrace entrepreneurship and position themselves to benefit from available government interventions.
Daramola said the success of any government programme depends partly on the willingness of citizens, particularly young people, to seek information, meet eligibility requirements and participate actively.
He therefore called on youth organisations, community leaders and relevant government agencies to create greater awareness about the programmes so that more young Nigerians could benefit from them.
He expressed optimism that greater youth participation in education, technical training, agriculture and entrepreneurship would contribute significantly to job creation, economic growth and national development.
