YULETIDE:E-11 GROUP CELEBRATES EKITI ELDERS

A pan Ekiti Socio-economic group group E-11 has held a get together party to celebrate the elderly citizens in the state for their contributions to the development of the state and their roles towards protecting the values of the society.

The event held at the at the state Elders recreation and resorts center was tagged ”E-11 yuletide celebration with the Elderly 2023”.

The Vice chairman of the group Mrs Yetunde Fosudo led other members that included former Deputy Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, chief Adetunji Orisalade, former former Registrar, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Dr Omojola Awosusi.

It was another opportunity for members of the club to spend time with the senior citizens to socialize with them as they play games, dance, wine and dine, together.

Ekiti state cultural troupe added glamour to the event as they rendered different songs to entertain the senior citizens.

Mrs Fosudo said the get together part was part of the club’s contribution to make the elders happy during this yuletide and to also free them of unnecessary issues and worries.

She explained that the E-11 group held Ekiti elders in high esteem hence the need to always provide necessary supports that would enable them live well and enjoy the rest of their lives

Mrs Fosudo who described the senior citizens as critical stakeholders who must not be neglected, said they had sacrificed and contributed to the peace and development of the state.

She emphasized the need for government at all levels to initiate policies that would protect the right of the elders, their welfare and as well make them comfortable at all times.

The group presented some sporting facilities to the elders.

The elders thanked the E-11 club for organizing the end of the year party and wished the a prosperous new year in advance.
