World Cup Qualifier: We can’t give up yet – Finidi tells Nigerians

Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, has said Nigeria must fight back and start to win games.

Speaking after the shocking 2-1 loss to the Republic of Benin in the 2026 World Cup qualifier played in Abidjan last night, he called for dedication from his players.

Finidi George said: “We will see when the new season begins how we can get the best out of the players.

“They have to show more commitment for us to start winning games. When we start winning, the fight is still on.”

Sounding defiant in the face of what appears like a severe task for Nigeria to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, Finidi said, “We can’t throw in the towel because we have three points from four matches.

“We will have to win games, if we win games, the battle will still be there.

“We have to find a way to get these players back in a way they can perform.” He said.
