The Ondo State Police Command said it has arrested one Tinuke Adeniyi over the death of Sunday Bayo, also known as ‘Saybayo,’ a socialite from Akure.

Recall that Bayo was reported to have passed away after a sex romp with Adeniyi his girlfriend.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo Police Command, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya revealed that Tinuke Adeniyi was arrested by detectives from the Command known as Special Weapons and Tactics Teams (SWATT).

Saybayo, 43, was reported missing by friends and relatives before his body was discovered in a residential area in December of last year.

His corpse was found in a horrific form inside his black, tainted car in Ijapo Estate, a popular private residential neighborhood inhabited by the wealthy in Akure, the state capital.

Video footage showing the remains of the deceased in a pool of blood had then circulated on social media, generating angry reactions from his colleagues who attributed his death to political assassination.

Mrs Odunlami-Omisanya who spoke with journalists through a press statement issued recently said, “The SWATT team, through intelligence-led police to apprehend Atinuke Adeniyi ‘f’ aged 29years who claimed she and the deceased were involved in a romantic affair and that on the 9th, a day before the corpse was dumped, she and the deceased made out at a brothel in Ijapo, after which the deceased started convulsing and out of fear she abandoned him and quietly left the room.”

Mrs Odunlami-Omisanya further noted that the suspect, Mrs. Adeniyi, led the team to the brothel where one Adeojo Ilesanmi, 50, the owner of the building, was arrested and he (Ilesanmi) confessed to having driven the corpse to the scene where it was found with claims that he was afraid when he realized the deceased died in his brothel.

The Police PRO however said that investigation was still in progress over the murder case, stressing that the suspects would be charged in court after the police had completed its investigation.
