Following the ruling by the Zamfara state Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Sokoto State, affirming Dauda Lawal of the People’s Democratic Party as the elected Governor of the state, the PDP has said Zamfara belongs to them.

The opposition Party said this in a statement published on its X handle @OfficialPDPNig.

Bello Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Zamfara State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Sokoto has challenged the outcome of the March 18 gubernatorial election that led to the emergence of Lawal, PDP.

The Tribunal affirmed the election of Dauda Lawal as the governor of the state, and dismissed the petition of Bello Matawalle for lacking merit, and therefore awarded a N500,000 fine to the petitioner.

The PDP said, “The ruling today of the Zamfara state Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Sokoto State, affirming Governor @daudalawal_ as the duly elected Governor of the state is a great boost to our Party and the @OfficialPDPNig family nationwide. This is a confirmation that Zamfara belongs to the PDP and Governor @daudalawal_ is the popular choice for the people of the State. Congratulations.”
