TREASURE NEWSPAPER ANNUAL LECTURE: ONDO STATE GOVT PROMISES MEDIA FRIENDLY RELATIONSHIP

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has pledged to maintain a media-friendly relationship with journalists in the state, the promise was made during the 1st annual public lecture and awards ceremony organized by Treasure Newspaper Nigeria Limited.

The event was held recently in Akure, Ondo State themed “Home-grown economy as a roadmap for economic sustainability: Examining the prospects under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration,” brought together prominent figures in Ondo State and Nigeria’s media industry, as well as distinguished citizens and friends of the media.

Delivering the lecture, Olusegun Mayegun, a former student union president of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and former president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), emphasized the importance of a strong economy for societal growth.

He stressed that the government must create a conducive environment for economic development.

Representing Governor Aiyedatiwa, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, commended Treasure Newspaper for its reputation and commitment to journalism.

He assured that the state government will continue to support the media, emphasizing the importance of accuracy, objectivity, and professional ethics in journalism.

Akinlosotu also announced plans for collaboration with media houses, particularly in the upcoming election year.

In a press statement signed by the Media Manager, Ministry of Information and Orientation in the State, Timilehin Ogunsulire noted that the programme contribution to Journalism remains unrivalled.
