Salary payroll Challenges: Tinubu Meets Oracle for Solution

By Udesinanna Stephen

President Bola Tinubu has lamented over the country’s civil service payroll at the National and State level, saying that payment of salaries for less than 2% of the population who are government workers consumes almost the entire government revenue.

Tinubu said this while discussing with the Leadership of Oracle (an American multinational cloud technology company) led by its Global Vice President, Mr. Andres Garcia Arroyo.

As gathered from the X handle of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi @TheTope_Ajayi, Tinubu said, Nigeria needs tight technological control that can check and balance all necessary points of government transaction processes.

According to the President, the Federal Government is ready to work with Oracle because of the reliability of its systems and capabilities.

The President, who recalled his dealings with Oracle during his governorship tenure in Lagos as a success, promised to replicate the result in the national sphere.

“Payroll system enhanced accountability, transparency and productivity without sacrificing quality.” He said.
