Subsidy Removal: NNPC Assures Nigerians Adequate Supply

By Akubulu Ngozi

Following the recent removal of fuel subsidy by the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his inauguration speech yesterday, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation , NNPC has assured Nigerians adequate supply of petroleum.

This was made known via its Official Twitter Account @nnpclimited in a statement by the Group Chief Executive Officer, GCEO, Mele Kyari while addressing the press.

According to him, the commission is working towards averting the scarcity already in progress in order to facilitate adequate supply as such urges Nigerians to avoid panic buying.

More so, reacting to the fuel subsidy removal policy, the GCEO noted that, ” the removal of the subsidy which has been a burden on NNPC Limited’s cash flow, will free up funds to enable optimal operations within the company.”

The Commission however, implores Nigerians to be calm as adequate monitoring of all distribution networks would be embarked on to ensure compliance.
