The peoples Democratic Party PDP, Local Government Chairmen in Ekiti State have warned the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose to stay away from the party’s congresses coming up in August.
Fayose had on Monday met with some party members ahead of the party Congress where he promised to donate huge sum of amount to support candidates.
The Chairmen in a statement in Ado Ekiti said such statement was unacceptable and vowed to resist every attempt by Fayose to highjack the party again for his own selfish gains.
The statement signed on behalf of the PDP Local Government chairmen by Mr Kole Abiodun said Fayose is no longer a member of the party.
It reads:” We have gladly donated him to APC because of his commitments to APC and his recent endorsement of BAO for second term publicly and privately on several occasions So, coming around to shed crocodile tears, donating ill gotten money and preaching fake unity in our party can never move us.
“Fayose’s love for money and materials things can never be quantified. He has been commissioned by the APC to disrupt the ongoing peace initiative among the leaders of our party and we will not fold our arms to allow his usual tricks to work this time around.
“We are equally aware of the plans by Hon Bisi Kolawole to work with Fayose to maneuver PDP congresses in Ekiti. Bisi K remains the only candidate in the history of our party in Ekiti to negotiate and sell his own mandate even before the election. His history of cash out arrangement in the last governorship election is still fresh in our memories
“PDP can not be destroyed. PDP is bigger than Fayose. PDP empowered and made Fayose and not otherwise.
“Our advice to Governor Biodun Oyebanji is to focus on the empowerment of his party members who are going through hell in the face of the economic hardship created by the APC-led government instead of wasting his money on Fayose who has promised him of destroying PDP.
“We have absolute trust in the national leadership of our party and other well meaning leaders in PDP, We encourage them to remain focus in the pursuit for a better PDP.
Efforts to speak with the former Governor was unsuccessful.
