All roads led to Ijigba Community in Akure South Local Government as the monarch of Ijigba Community installed a season journalist and publisher of the Southwest Heralds Magazine, Oluwatayo Moses Adu as Otunba Bobajiro of Ijigba Land.
As part of the activities celebrating his coronation anniversary, the Olujigba of Ijigba, Oba Amb. Rev. Luyi Rotimi, installed six new traditional chiefs and honorary chiefs with various titles as members of the Ijigba Council.
The 10th years coronation and 2nd anniversary of receiving Staff of Office from the State Governnent ceremony was held on 24 August 2024 at the Olujigba Palace.
In his anniversary speech, the royal father, Oba Luyi, thanked the people of the community and chiefs for their support, love and unity which has helped him since ascension on the throne.
His words: βThe Ijigba community shall continue to celebrate August 24 as the foundation day of Ijigba land every year, irrespective of the day of the week it falls on.β
While thanking Governor Aiyedatiwa for his laudable projects in Akure South, he appealed to the government to support the community initiative tagged ROLIWA (Roads, Light, and Water) project, as well as education and health.
Olujigba added that the choice of Adu Moses as the Otunba Bobajiro of Ijigba Community was due to his Invaluable contributions and positive projection of the community as a Media Guru..
He urged him to continue to use his good office and platform to always promote Ijigba Community saying his new position comes with new responsibility as the right hand man of the king.
Speaking with the PATH, Otunba Moses Adu thanked the monarch for the honour with a promise of contributing his quota to the development of the ancient community.
Meanwhile, the representative of the Governor, Honourable Commissioner of Water Resources and Public Sanitation, Hon. Gbenga Olaniyi congratulated the monarch and Ijigba People while urging both the chiefs and residents to be loyal and cooperate with the king towards elevating Ijigba to an enviable height.
Other newly honourary chiefs are Mr. Salamis Yohanna and Ayege β Akogun, Chief (Mrs) Mercy Oluwatoyin Faloye β Moremi.
