Set-up Joint Security Committee as Demonstrated by Emure, Ise/Orun, Ikere…Amotekun Commander Tells Communities.

Various communities in Ekiti State have been urged to form Joint Security Committee in order to check criminal activities in their domains.

The Amotekun Corps Commander in the state, Brigadier General Olu Adewa, Retired stated this when members of the Emure, Ise/Orun and Ikere paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Ado-Ekiti.

Brigadier General Adewa Retired stressed the need for towns and villages in the state to emulate the people of Emure, Ise/Orun and Ikere local governments who have set up such committee to stem the tide of insecurity in the areas.

According to the Amotekun Corps Commander, the task being undertaken by the Committee which was supported by Traditional Rulers and other stakeholders had made the axis the most relatively peaceful part of the state.

He however implored the committe members not to rest on their oars, while assuring them of the readiness of the Amotekun to support them by deploying Personnel and logistics during operational activities.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Emure, Ise/Orun and Ikere local governments Joint Security Committee, Elder Tunji Falana congratulated Brigadier General Adewa Retired on his recent appointment into the position.

Elder Falana pointed out that the leadership qualities and passion for community development through peaceful co-existence of the Amotekun Commander would help him to perform better.

On his part, the General Secretary of the Committee, Supt Niyi Okunniga expressed concern over the activities of Saboteurs who always jeopardize the efforts of security agencies to achieve a crime free society.
