The Association of Retired Heads of Service (HOS) and Permanent Secretaries (P.S) in Ekiti State, has praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his welfare packages for retirees.
President of the Association, Mr. Oluwole Ariyo made this known during the association’s New Year Get Together held in Ado-Ekiti.
The gathering, which was organized to celebrate the contributions of the former state administrators, was attended by a representative of the Ekiti State Head of Service, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, and other dignitaries.
The program serves as an opportunity for the retired administrators to unite and deliberate on wide range of issues relating to their, health, career and benefits.
Speaking with newsmen, the President, Mr. Ariyo also commended the Governor for the marginal increase in pensions across board but called for a review to align the pensions of former heads of service and permanent secretaries in both federal and state levels with the realities of the new minimum wage.
Representing the Ekiti State Head of Service, a senior civil servant, Mrs. Janet Ajibola conveyed felicitations to the retirees, urging them to prioritize their well-being and continue to give meaningful advice to their successors.
The State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Comrade Popola Temitope, also commended the old generals for their meritorious services to the state.
Highlights of the event featured prayers for Ekiti State and the nation at large, while the participants wined and dinned to good musics.
