The House of Representatives has inaugurated the Committee to investigate Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), Parastatals and Tertiary Institutions to counter the issues of recruitment, employment racketeering, and the gross mismanagement of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

This was made known in the opening remarks of the Speaker House Of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, during the inauguration of the ad-hoc committee for the investigation.

As obtained from the Twitter handle of the Nigeria House of Rep. @HouseNGR, the Speaker said, the move is targeted to entrench transparency, efficiency and accountability in public service, adding that it is a calculated attempt to foster good governance in Nigeria’s public institutions.

Also, he said, “Recruitment and blatant employment racketeering destroys the essence of bureaucratic processes and leaves damaging implications. It affects the integrity of our institutions and distorts the aspirations of many citizens who seek competitive and fair opportunities.

“By the powers conferred on me as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, I hereby inaugurate this Committee and urge you to carry out this national assignment with every sense of responsibility, commitment and dedication it deserves.” He said.
