Renowned Labour Leader, Ajoloko Emerges JNC Chairman in Ekiti

…says I have my strategies of putting government on toes

The vacant seats of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Joint Negotiating Council, Ekiti State has been filled through a bye election.

Both seats became vacant after the chairman, Comrade Kayode Fatomiluyi and the Vice, Comrade Lawrence Kulogun retired from the service of Ekiti State.

During the election, the incumbent chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, MAHWUN, Ekiti State Council, Comrade  Femi Ajoloko was unanimously elected as the new chairman of JNC while comrade Samson Otitoju was elected  the new Vice Chairman.

The election which was held at the NLC secretariat  was presided over by a representative of the union from the National Secretariat, Comrade Duro Adebisi who also administered the oath of office on the new chairman and vice.

Addressing the gathering, the Head of Service, Mr Bamidele Agbede represented by a senior  Director, Mr. Adebiyi Oyinloye   urged the new JNC leadership  not to be too confrontational in the agitation for the benefits of their members with a promise that government would continue to attend to their welfare.

He congratulated the workers for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner and conducting the election without any controversy.

In their separate remarks, NLC chairman, Comrade Olatunde  Kolapo and his TUC counterpart, Comrade  Sola Adigun welcomed the new JNC leaders on board with a call on them to roll their sleeves for the task of getting the best for workers.

In his acceptance speech, the new chairman, Comrade Femi Ajoloko acknowledged the efforts of the outgone chairman, Comrade Fatomiluyi with a promise to use his energy and wealth of experience to right the wrongs in the council.

Comrade Ajoloko promised to work closely with past leaders and also use his strategies to ensure that government do the needful for workers.
