Renowned Journalist Cautions Residents against blocking water ways

…commends Oyebanji for giving succour to victims of natural disasters

People of Ekiti State have been advised to desist from all activities that can obstruct water ways due to it’s negative consequences.

A former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Ekiti State, Akogun Tai Oguntayo gave the advice during an interview with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti.

Akogun Oguntayo noted that the recent flood cases recorded in the state were as a result of the blockade of water channels by residents through dumping of refuse and construction of buildings on waterways.

The renowned media professional also advised residents to plant trees around their houses to serve as wind breakers during storm.

The former SA to the Speaker of Ekiti Assembly, commended the efforts of Governor Oyebanji over the provision of support for some victims of natural disasters saying such prompt action had again attested to the fact that Governor Oyebanji is a lover of the masses.
