Putin Makes Surprise Visit to Captured Parts of Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited a captured parts of the southern Ukrainian region, Kherson, close to the war front.

Putin told the soldiers that he did not want to distract them from their duties.

He also said that “it is important for me to hear your opinion on how the situation is developing, to listen to you, to exchange information”.

Also, he is said to have attended a military command meeting to hear reports from military commanders.

Recap, “Russian troops retreated from the city of Kherson late last year, losing the only regional capital it had managed to capture since Moscow invaded Ukraine. However, some of the region remains under Russian control.” the BBC reported.

The Newyork times, has that according to footage broadcast by the state news media Putin had traveled to the Russian troop headquarters by helicopter, He was not accompanied by Defense Minister Sergei K. Shoigu or Valery V. Gerasimov, the chief of the general staff of the military.
