Protest Rocks Ibadan Over Scarcity of New Naira Notes

By Deborah Christopher

Residents of Ibadan in Oyo State have taken to the streets to protest over the CBN Naira policy and fuel scarcity.

The protesters took to the social media with the tag: “Enough is Enough, No fuel! No Light! No PVC! No Old Naira Notes too!”

The protest which was against hardship triggered by the naira notes swap and hike in fuel price disrupted vehicular movement in the area.

Roundoffnews gathered that some of residents decried the protest while others were against it.

“Blocking the road is not the solution to whatever is happening in Nigeria at the moment, allow people to move and go about their daily activities.”

“Don’t worsen the situation, if you want to agitate, let there be nationwide shutdown not Iwo Road, Ibadan alone that will agitate.”
