POPULAR BROADCASTER IN EKITI EMPOWERS 20,000 VULNERABLE PERSONS

….seeks improved support to touch more lives

A renowned broadcaster in Ekiti State, Mr Bayo Famoroti says he has been able to provide succour to more than 20,000 persorns within and outside Ekiti State in the last few years..

Famoroti told roundoffnews that the supports and empowerment has been achieved through his programme known as FAV Charity on Air.

According to Famoroti, the programme started on Ekiti Radio in 2019 with house to house food distribution to widows across Ekiti State and was a welcome relief to beneficiaries.

He siad: “Ever since, the mission has expanded in scope and acceptability while more people of goodwill have embraced it, resulting in more beneficiaries.

Today, Fav charity on air has become a household phenomenon with over 20,000 beneficiaries who are not limited to Ekiti State alone but also from other neighbouring states like Kogi, Kwara, Ondo, Osun and Lagos.

“In 2020, the mission expanded its scope, with wider vision particularly during the Covid 19 pandemic period, Fav charity on Air distributed food stuff to the needy during the lockdown.

“The mission was able to give out N2,500 to 50 people daily for no less than three months while it is also paying school fees for indigent students and orphans.

Narrating the zeal behind the programme, Bayo Fanoroti, said he was moved by the plight of the people, pointing out that there is much suffering in the society to such an extent that many people find it difficult to eat once a day.

He disclosed that in order to assuage the suffering of the people, the mission has trained many of them in entrepreneurship, paid hospital bills, donated wheel chairs, building, food stuffs, clothes and paid rents for people.

Evang. Famoroti  expressed his appreciation to those who have been supporting the programme and also appealed to people of goodwill to support the mission in its efforts to assuage the suffering of the people.
