Police Arrests Notorious Car Syndicate in Ekiti

…parades others over conspiracy, stealing, armed robbery, burglary

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested two suspects who are suspected to be notorious serial car syndicates in Ekiti State.

The other five suspects arrested by the command were allegedly associated with conspiracy stealing, armed robbery, burglary and attempted murder.

Parading the suspects today at the command’s headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, the Force Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, who represented the State Commissioner of Police, Akinwale Kunke Adeniran revealed that the suspects were arrested in different locations.

He said, “One Ayeni Oluwasegun Emmanuel and Suleiman Olaoluwa were arrested within Ekiti State University Campus while attempting to remove one Toyota Matrix Car from where parked. Upon the arrest of the suspects, they made confessional statement that they had earlier, on 16/02/2024, forcefully opened the door of a Toyota Corolla car parked within the premises of the institution and stole One HP Laptop Computer and different assorted Clothes kept inside the vehicle.

Also, “One Awe Deji, a serial burglar, was arrested within the premises of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, by the Security Guards on duty for attempting to Steal one motorcycle therein while other gang members escaped. Investigation revealed that the gang was responsible for the stealing of numerous vehicles and motorcyles from the hospital prior to their arrest.

More so, “On 25/02/2024 at about 11:00hrs, based on a credible tip-off that a group of suspected armed robbers was sighted in a house in lyin-Ekiti, the Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Swiftly mobilized to the scene and Condoned off the building. During the operation, one Emmanuel Kehinde Isaac and Daniel Olamide Friday were arrested while others escaped.

Similarly, “The Command received a report that a store inside Ekiti State Airport where lengths of iron rods and other construction materials are kept was burgled by unknown thief or thieves and some iron rods were stolen.in connection one Peter Olutade and 18 lengths of 12mm iron rods valued #261,000 were found in his possession.”

The Command advised residents of the state to be vigilant and report any suspected incident or happening observed in their locality to the nearest Police Station.
