PDP Chieftains Moves to Resolve Crisis, Says Party Still Choice of Ekiti People

…berates Oyebanji for inability to appoint executive members

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State has boasted that the party still remains the choice of Ekiti people depsite been the opposition.

The party chieftains, who made the call in Ado-Ekiti during an interactive meeting organised by “The Progressives” a mobilisation group under the party, noted that the purpose of the meeting was to reshape and stabilise the party ahead of the next election.

Speaking at the inauguration held in Ado Ekiti, a Chieftain of PDP in Ekiti State, Mr Harrison Niyi-Alonge called on the caretaker committee of the party to convene a meeting of all leaders and stakeholders on how to move  the party forward.

Mr Niyi-Alonge noted that the process of rebuilding the party in Ekiti State have started, urging members to move to nook and crannies of the State to woo people for the party, even among the APC.

The PDP Chieftain said PDP had produced the best governors in Ekiti State due to the contributions of former governors Ayodele Fayose and Chief Segun Oni to socio and infrastructural development of the state, hence the need for the party to take over again.

In a  remark, a former South West Chairman of PDP, Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe and a former Acting Governor in Ekiti State, Mr Tunji Odeyemi explained that the purpose of the meeting was to  reshape and stabilize the party ahead of next election, saying the party is still the choice of Ekiti people.

Representative of the Chairman cerataker committee of PDP in Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Oladimeji noted that there was still hope for the party and urged members of the party to continue mobilizing for Ekiti PDP, especially at the grassroots.

He urged them to forget the past but chat a new course that would bring the party to power again in the State and the country at large, saying  the downfall of the party during the last election was as result of unresolved crisis among some members and urged them to do away with such.

Also, the Southwest Public Relations Officer of PDP, Chief Sanya Atofarati commended the organiser of the event, particularly, a former House of Assembly member, Mr Wale Ayeni and appealed to members across the sixteen local governments not to relent in the efforts to bring the party back to power.

He therefore lamented over  the inability of Governor Biodun Oyebanji not to have  appointed executive members in the last eight months, saying such was undemocratic.

Earlier, the convener of the programme, Mr Wale Ayeni said the those that attended  meeting would go to their various wards to mobilize ten thousand members for the party, saying mother of the programme will soon take place.
