Oyebanji’s wife Restates Ekiti Government’s Commitment to Sports Development

…Unveils Ekiti Queens FC new jersey

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has reiterated the commitment of the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration to developing the Sports sector by prioritizing the welfare of sportsmen and women in the State.

Dr Oyebanji re-echoed the government’s commitment while unveiling new sets of jerseys of the Ekiti Queens Football Club at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.

Dr Oyebanji who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Sola Adeluyi, also called on well- meaning Ekiti people to ensure they imbibe good giving culture and accord the football club the necessary assistance to enable it meet its logistic needs.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth and Sport Development, Mr Bamidele Arowosola appreciated the First Lady for her continued support for sport activities in the state, noting that the Governor’s wife is following the footsteps of her predecessor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi who masterminded the creation of the female football club in 2021.

Arowosola expressed his delight over the promotion of the club to the Championship League in the Nigerian Football League ranking as they are prepared to actively partake in the forthcoming National Women Championship League tournament in Ogun State.

Highlight of the event was a friendly match between Ekiti Queens FC and Salem FC of Oye-Ekiti which ended in 1-0 in favour of Ekiti Queens FC.

The occasion was also graced by the Senior Special Assistant to the First Lady on Political Mobilization, Mrs Toyin Adepoju, Permanent Secretary Bureau of Special Duties, Mrs Tola Faseluka, Directors in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development among others.
