…urges members to prioritize state interest
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday presided over the inaugural meeting of the State’s Executive Council with a charge to members to put the interest of the State above personal interest and other considerations.
The meeting which took place at the EXCO Chamber, Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti, had in attendance, the Deputy Governor, Chief ( Mrs) Monisade Afuye; who is the deputy chairman and other appointees.
Briefing Journalists at the end of the meeting, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, said the inaugural meeting which came barely 16 days after the swearing-in of Governor Oyebanji, featured administration of oaths for the new members- Dr ( Mrs ) Habibat Adubiaro ( Secretary to the State Government) and Mr Dayo Apata, (Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice).
“Thereafter, the meeting took and approved the presentation on the 2022-2025 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).” he said
Oyebode disclosed that the MTEF which is a three year plan, is spread across the six pillars of the administration mamely: Governance; Agric and Rural Development; Human Capital Development; Infrastructure and Industrialization; Youth Development and Job Creation; and Art, Culture and Tourism.
He disclosed further that the approval of the MTEF by Council would be followed by the presentation of the 2023 budget to the state Assembly.
“It is recalled that the new administration was inaugurated on October 16th. Some appointments have been made into the cabinet. The cabinet will expand as the Governor make more appointments .” Oyebode said.
