Osun, Ogun States Declare Holiday for Teachers

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, have declared today as public holiday to commemorate 2024 World Teachers Day.

Adeleke, in a statement yesterday through his Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, said the holiday, which was for private and public schools, was to identify teachers.

The statement said: “I, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, heartily congratulate all teachers throughout the world and in particular in my dear state, Osun, on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day being celebrated annually every 5th of October.”

Governor Abiodun spoke at the weekend during a celebration held at the Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.
