Old Students of Moba Grammar School Set to Build #250M ICT Center for Alma Mater

….. highlights activities lined up for 60th Anniversary

The Moba Grammar School Alumni Association has announced plans to construct a 250 million naira Information and Communication Technology (ICT) center at their alma mater.

This decision was made known during a new conference to herald the sixtieth anniversary of the school, held in Ado Ekiti.

President of the association, Mr. Samuel Bankole noted that the project was a consensus agreement by members initiated to improve the academic standard of the school and equip the students with ICT knowledge needed to compete with their counterparts globally.

He appreciated Governor Oyebanji for the various investment in the school and called for more tlso as to revive the old glory of the school.

Speaking on the drop on the standard of education, Mr. Bankole warned both parents and teachers to stop aiding examination malpractices among students.

The 60th-anniversary celebration, scheduled from January 29th to 1st of February will feature a series of events. According to Bankole, he said

“The anniversary will begin with a welcome address by the coordinating committee chairman, Engineer Femi Adewumi, followed by goodwill messages from the school’s first student, and a candle procession and prayers”.

“Day two will include goodwill messages from the first male senior prefect, an anniversary lecture, and an open forum to discuss the school’s future. Furthermore, there will be a goodwill message from the school’s principal and a brief history of the school yesterday, today and tomorrow. The day will conclude with debate and quiz competitions”.

“On day three, students will participate in an inter-house sports competition in the morning, followed by a variety night in the evening. While the highlight of day four will be the official launch of the proposed 250 million ICT center project, with Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji invited to grace the occasion. A celebratory dinner will conclude the anniversary events”. Bankole said.

In his remarks, the Principal, Moba Grammar School, Mr Olugbenga Jolasanmi expressed his gratitude towards the upcoming ICT project by the Alumni association, he said he is glad that the project is happening during his tenure.

Other Alumni members expressed their delight towards the upcoming Anniversary, adding that it is an avenue to reunite with classmates and friends.

They urged other members to find time to attend the various programmes lined up.
