OLALEKAN IJIDALE PARTNERS EKITI NUJ ON GOVERNMENT’S PLAN TO PRIORITIZE LOCAL CONTENTS

The Director General, Bureau of Local Content, Ekiti State, Olalekan has expressed his intention to work closely with the media through the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council.

Ijidale made this known during a visit to the office of the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Kayode Babatuyi.

Ijidale noted that the assignment before him is taxing and requires vigorous publicity to achieve desired results.

According to him, his office is saddled with the responsibility of monitoring activities of contractors, manufacturing industries and institutions to ensure that indigenous materials and personnel are given priority.

This according to him was a thought out plan by Governor Oyebanji to create jobs for youths, guide against capital flight and boost the economy of the state.

Responding, the Chairman, NUJ, Ekiti Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi acknowledged the support of Ijidale for the media industry and promised that Journalists would give him the needed support.

He affirmed that the decision to prioritize local contest was a welcome idea which must be embraced by all.
