NYSC Members Safe in Ekiti- Governor Oyebanji Assures

The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has assured the 2024 Batch B Stream II National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members of their safety in the state, noting that the state is known for a peaceful record.

The Governor gave the assurance today during the swearing in of the Prospective Corp Members in Ise-Orun/Emure camp, Ekiti State.

He also urged them to embrace the values of statesmanship, patriotism, and self-sufficiency as they begin their 21-day orientation course at the camp.

Represented by Mrs. Solafemi Adeloye, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development, the Governor encouraged them to promote peace wherever they go and to use the orientation exercise and subsequent service year to network, learn new skills, and drive self-sufficiency through the Skill Acquisitions and Entrepreneurial Development (SAED) program.

The Ekiti State Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Abdullahi Shuaibu, appreciated the Governor’s support for the NYSC scheme and solicited continued interventions in key areas for the scheme’s progress.

He highlighted the Governor’s contribution to the scheme, including the ongoing construction of 45 units of toilets and bathrooms across the camp.

The event was attended by members of the military and paramilitary forces, royal fathers, government representatives, and the media. A demonstration by the Man O’ War group added a memorable touch to the occasion.
