NO MORE OVERLOADING, EKITI FRSC GOES TOUGH ON COMMERCIAL DRIVERS

The Federal Road Safety Corps Ekiti Sector Command says it will commence arrest and prosecution of motorists overloading their vehicles with goods and passengers in the state.

According to a statement by the Ag. Sector Public Education Officer, Mr. Egesie Obinna, the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Ekiti Sector Command, Corps Commander Elijah Olusola  announced the decision during an  interactive section with executives of transport unions in the state.

The commander noted that the special patrol has become exigent to stem the rising statistics of crashes traceable to overloading in the state.

He said the special patrol operations would be held across the state in conjunction with transport unions and other law enforcement agencies.

Consequently, motorists are advised to hence forth adhere strictly to laws and regulations relating to loading capacity of their vehicles to avoid prosecution
