NNPC Reacts to Fuel Subsidy Removal

Following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to end fuel subsidy, the Nigeria National Petroleum Company, NNPC Limited, has reacted to the development, saying that it is a welcome decision.

The Chief Executive Officer, CEO of NNPC, Mele Kyari said this lately while addressing the press.

As obtained from the Twitter handle of the Company, @nnpclimited, he said, “The removal of the subsidy, which has been a burden on NNPC Limited’s cash flow, will free up funds to enable optimal operations within the company.”

Commenting on the scarcity of fuel being experienced, he assured Nigerians of a sufficient supply of the product adding that NNPC is monitoring all its distribution networks to ensure compliance.
