NLC Demands Reversal of Increase in Pump Price of PMS, Electricity Tariff

The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has demanded for the Reversal of the latest increase in the pump of PMS across the country.

A statement issued by the President of NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero, says one of the reasons for accepting N70,000 National Minimum Wage was the understanding that the pump price would not be increased.

” We recall the assurance we were given by the leadership of the National Assembly on the 250% tariff hike, that it has been dealth with and there was no need to openly engage with the minister of power who was at the meeting” NLC President stated.

Comrade Ajaero also called for the Reversal of the 250% tariff hike in electricity.

He urged the federal and state governments to put policies in place to cushion the hunger and insecurity in the country.

Comrade Ajaero maintained that organised labour would continue to push for the welfare of Nigerian workers.

The National Executive Council of NLC had demanded the reversal of all government’s policies causing economic hardship.
