Nigerian Army kills insurgents, recovers arms

The Nigerian Army said it has carried out a successful ambush against Insurgents attempting to attack a village in Zamfara.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, revealed this in a media statement.

This is coming in less than 48 hours Roundoffnews reported that Gunmen abducted eight National Youth Service Corps NYSC members in Zamfara State, travelling to Sokoto State for the one-year national youth service when the Gunmen intercepted their vehicle.

General Onyema said, “Troops of 1 Brigade Garrison, operating under 8 Division, Area of Responsibility, while acting on actionable Intelligence, ambushed insurgents who were on a mission to attack Bobo Village in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

“In a fierce fight with the insurgents, troops eliminated two of the criminals and recovered two AK 47 Rifles and four motorcycles.” He added.

The Nigerian Army called on all law-abiding citizens to support its operations to enhance security across the country.
